ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOOD
*All the food served at Ojo Del Mar is %100 fresh, local and mostly organic.
*Breads and baked goods are made on the premises. The meals are inspired by cultures from around the world and are truly extraordinary.
*We will eat mostly vegetarian with some fish caught fresh from the Gulfo Dulce.
MONEY
*Plan on bringing $400-$500 in either cash or traveler’s checks. If you are interested in the afternoon activities listed above you will need cash on hand to pay for them. Due to the fact that there is no electricity or telephones on the Osa, there are also no ATMS and vendors do not accept credit cards. This is partly what makes the Osa such a unique and special place. Remember that you can always bring money home with you but it’s not easy to get money once you are at the retreat center.
*Most vendors accept American money. If you want to exchange some money, you can do so at the airport in San Jose.
*Save $30 for the exit tax. This can be paid for either in cash or by Visa credit card
THE PRICE OF THIS YOGA RETREAT INCLUDES
*2 complimentary Yoga practices a day (all levels) with one afternoon off for a group adventure to explore the Osa.

TRAVEL INFO (not included in retreat price)
This trip requires two flights. One from your departure city to San Jose and the second from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez. You can take any international flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. (A nonstop flight from New York City is only 4 hours and 20 minutes). From San Jose you will connect to a 45-minute local flight into Puerto Jimenez. This leaves you less than a 45 minute taxi ride from the lodge. We will arrange for a taxi to meet you once your flight arrives in Puerto Jimenez.
We encourage you to contact Isabel from Osa Tropical to help you with all the arrangements: www.osatropical@ice.co.cr . She can help organize in-country flights, hotels and taxis. She may also help do hotels in San Jose etc… and try to put folks together in taxis that arrive around the same time, and organize your arrival at Ojo Del Mar.
International Flights: Most major US carriers go to Costa Rica as does Lacsa, the airline of Costa Rica. To avoid an overnight stay in San Jose, schedule your international flight to arrive before 12 noon and to depart after 12 noon. This will allow you to catch a local flight the same day. You will need at least 2 hours to clear customs/immigration and change airports. We recommend www.taca.com for the best rates on flights. If you do require an overnight stay in San Jose we recommend the Hotel Aranjuez www.hotelaranjuez.com. You will need to fax them a registration form and credit card information in order to reserve your room.
Local Flights: The local flights have two regular schedules (high & low seasons) and you can generally skip an overnight stay in San Jose by taking an earlier international flight. The local flights require reservations and book quickly. The cost is about $170 round trip. You must check in 45 minutes before departure for these flights. You are allowed 25 pounds of luggage per person and additional luggage will cost 45 cents per pound. Also items more than 7 feet long may be a problem. For schedules see www.natureair.com and www.flysansa.com. Please make sure to read all booking, cancellation and refund policies before submitting either payment or reservation information.
You can expect to pay around $50 in total for the taxis needed within San Jose and on the Osa (This fare can be split between travelers).
